We pulled our first letterpress prints in 2009 on a Vandercook cylinder press using lead type at Otis College of Art and Design. One year and countless late-night studio hours later, we shipped our first Adana Eight-Five lever-operated press from the UK. A second, nearly identical Adana arrived in early 2013.
Our entire letterpress production process is powered manually using 100 percent muscle. We use rubber-based inks mixed by hand and our house paper is a thick, tree-free, 100 percent cotton stock. You can find us printing out of our old Edwardian apartment in the heart of San Francisco, and soon at events around the Bay Area. We’re also certified to operate the presses at the San Francisco Center for the Book (an awesome resource for any printing or paper lover, btw).
